Baby AngelBug,™ the idea, came after the birth of my first child, Jonah.  With my background as a Child Psychiatrist and Developmental Specialist, I have always had a passion for little ones and the strong desire to advocate for them and their families.  When Jonah came along, that passion sky-rocketed, and with my new “mommy mind,” I have been ga-ga over all things baby since!

I was always on the search for products that would aid and expand Jonah’s development.  Some worked well, some, not so well.  With my training as a physician, combined with being a new mommy, I decided to branch out that experience and start Baby AngelBug™. 

AngelBug, my son’s pet name, came from another experienced mom, my opinionated, artistic best friend, Jonah’s Granna.  Granna has been an invaluable, creative collaborator and joined the company as Artistic Director. 

The creation of our first product, the Kick and Grow Tummy Zone™ Developmental Mat, came from wanting to have a tummy-time activity mat that addressed all of Jonah’s developmental needs, emotionally, cognitively, and whole body!  The patented, holistic design did just that.  Jonah’s ‘core’ tummy area was able to be comfortably supported by the uniquely designed Tummy Zone™ wedge, while the Kick Bolster encouraged his baby instinct to kick-off with his legs and feet.  The plush activity monkey toy addressed his emotional and cognitive needs.  Jonah even today takes that monkey toy on trips as his lovey!

Through all this, I managed to corral my always supportive husband to join me, while both our second baby, Isabella, and my second product were Born!

Both my babies were always a challenge to keep occupied when it came time to change their diaper. I was always amazed at how a 15 lb. little person required the aid of two adults to manage a sanitary diaper change!  I would inevitably yell for help when changing their diaper as they had reached down into the mess or squirmed around, leaving me with one hand to complete the task. 

As I was driving home from work one afternoon, stuck in traffic, the idea of the Protect ‘n’ Play™ Changing Pad came to me. The patent-pending, unique design solved a huge problem. I could actually change Isabella without all the wiggles and worry about exposure to dangerous bacteria and germs.  She was content and occupied playing with her favorite little toys I attached to the Sof’-Snug Play Belt™. I began using the Protect ‘n’ Play™ Changing Pad in place of my diaper bag for quick trips out, and when I had to use commercial changing stations. I intentionally designed the pad to be deluxe in size so she would have a fun, comfy, and sanitary barrier, giving me peace of mind.

The main steadfast goal of Baby AngelBug™ is to create high-quality, innovative, and functional products that make parenting easier and baby happy!
